Good records.
Informed decisions.
Ask Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) or a qualified Jamaican tax professional which returns and payments apply to your operation. Your obligations depend on your circumstances.
Keep income and expense records
Retain invoices, receipts, booking records and evidence of business expenses. A Tax Compliance Certificate does not file or pay your taxes.
Check the filing calendar
Self-employed persons generally use S04 for their annual return and S04A for estimated income and contributions. The usual annual filing date is March 15, subject to the official calendar and announcements. Quarterly and other obligations may also apply.
Use official resources
- Tax Administration Jamaica — tax services and filing information
- Companies Office of Jamaica — business registration and annual returns
- National Housing Trust — contribution information
Company annual returns, where relevant, are separate from income tax returns. These independent resources do not imply government endorsement of JAVO.
Need help registering a business?
Ask JAVO for information about an optional referral to iKonic. Any services, fees and agreement are arranged separately with that provider.
