Privacy Policy

Effective 10 October 2026

Business address: 64 Warminster, Myersvillle Division, Santa Cruz P.O., St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, W.I.

Who handles your information

Jamaica Adventure Vehicle Operators Limited (JAVO) uses personal information to respond to enquiries, assess membership applications and provide agreed membership and licensing-process support. For privacy questions or requests, contact JAVO Management at admin@javojamaica.com or +1 876-469-6425.

What we collect and why

Enquiry forms collect your name, contact information, parish, vehicle status, preferred support, current stage and any referral details you provide. The contact form collects your name, email, optional telephone number, subject and message. We use these details to respond and follow up on your request.

Membership applications also request your address, TRN, vehicle and driver information, passport photograph, registration, fitness, insurance, driver’s licence and TCC. We use them to assess and administer membership and prepare the services you request. Payment evidence helps us reconcile payments; an uploaded receipt is not automatic payment verification. Additional documents should be supplied only when relevant to your application or specifically requested.

We process information where needed to respond to your request, prepare or perform an agreement, meet applicable obligations, or with your consent where required. An optional marketing choice is separate from service communications. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time.

Staff-assisted applications

If you ask JAVO to enter information received by telephone, WhatsApp or in person, authorised staff can submit it into the same application system. Staff record the source and their involvement. They must have your permission and your declarations; staff entry does not approve membership.

Provide another person’s driver or referral details only with authority to do so. A referral does not give JAVO permission to add that person to a marketing list.

Storage, access and sharing

Website submissions are stored in JAVO’s WordPress database on its Hostinger hosting service. Uploaded application files are held in private database storage and retrieved through authorised administrator access, rather than public media-library links. Notification emails contain a record reference and a staff sign-in link. We do not attach uploaded identity documents to these initial staff notifications.

Authorised JAVO personnel and technical service providers may access information where needed for their roles. Where you request application support, relevant information may be shared with the Transport Authority, TPDCo, insurers or other responsible agencies as needed for that service and with any required authority. We do not automatically send your information to Iconic Communications International because its website is linked here.

Hostinger hosting, email delivery and any messaging service you choose may involve processing outside Jamaica. External services, including WhatsApp, apply their own privacy notices. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements applicable to your request.

How long information is kept

We retain enquiry and contact records while handling and following up on the request; application and membership records while assessing or administering membership and agreed services; and necessary records afterwards where required for accounting, regulatory duties, complaints or legal claims. The appropriate period depends on the record and purpose. Contact JAVO Management to ask about the period applicable to your information or to request removal of information no longer needed. Records and backups are not automatically erased when a form is closed or a membership ends.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, restrict processing or withdraw consent where applicable. You may also object to a decision based solely on automated processing and request human review. Rights and any lawful limitations depend on the circumstances. We may ask for proportionate identity verification before responding.

Send requests to admin@javojamaica.com. You can raise concerns with Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner.

Security and updates

We restrict application administration to authorised staff and use checks to limit automated form abuse. No online system is risk-free. Do not send bank passwords, PINs or card credentials. Report suspected misuse promptly. This service is intended for adult individual operators. We will update this notice when our practices change; the effective date identifies the current version.

Membership IDs and public verification

With recorded permission, JAVO uses your name, photograph, membership number, chapter and membership dates to issue your membership ID. A separate photo-display permission controls whether your photograph appears in public verification results.

Our public verification form requires the membership number, chapter and last four digits of the member’s TRN. A successful, consent-enabled lookup displays the name, membership number, chapter, membership dates and status, vehicle counts, vehicle sub-numbers, make/model, year, colour, masked registration numbers and JAVO vehicle statuses. It does not show complete TRNs, complete registration numbers, contact details, addresses, chassis/VIN data, private documents or payment records.

Because membership numbers can be sequential and four digits provide limited protection, this is a membership-status check, not secure identity authentication. Only share lookup details with someone you want to check your membership. You can contact admin@javojamaica.com to withdraw public-display permission; withdrawal prevents future public lookups but cannot recall information already viewed or downloaded.

Full TRNs are encrypted in the membership record. Authorized staff access is logged. Photographs are stored as private documents and prepared without the original image metadata for ID display. We use rate limits and daily rotating pseudonymous visitor codes to monitor verification abuse; these activity records are retained for up to seven days, subject to the site’s scheduled cleanup. Membership changes, issued documents and consent evidence remain in the private administrative history.
